A Day in the Lives

SwedishJewfish on April 18, 2012:

"Well for starters, I couldn't pay the fine because I had a third party check, so I was told I had to go before the judge. Court was already in session and I had to wait for everyone else to go. I've been to court for MV violations many times before (I'm a shitty driver) so I'm used to just being in there with other MV cases...but for whatever reason, whether it's because this is a smaller town and they only have one courthouse, I was in there with people appearing for all kinds of criminal violations....

"so trigger warning (which I sure as fuck wish I got)I had to sit through all of these arraignments (or whatever it's called when you appear before the judge) and hear in detail about horrific crimes, everything from a man who put a loaded gun against his wife's head (he got accelerated rehabilitation) to a woman who threw kittens out of her car on the highway (accelerated rehabilitation) and then the man I was sitting next to went up and I found out he was charged with degree sexual assault and strangulation, and his piece of shit lawyer went on this whole blame the victim diatribe and I ended up having a full blown meltdown in the middle of open court and had to leave. in so doing, missed my name being called. They called me again, everything is fine now, but I'm really, really shaken by what just happened."

Richard Rivas Arredondo on September 1, 2010:

"Police in Stamford have arrested a city man after they say he pulled a 16-year old girl into his car and then strangled and raped her.

"Richard Rivas Arredondo, 25, has been charged with Sexual Assault 1st Degree, Unlawful Restraint 1st Degree and Strangulation 1st Degree."
